IELTS – General Training is accepted by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) as evidence of English-language proficiency. If you are applying for permanent residency in Canada, it is likely that you will be required to present your test result as part of your application. You can also submit IELTS results for Canadian citizenship.
The Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) are the national standards used in Canada for describing, measuring and recognizing the English-language proficiency of adult immigrants and prospective immigrants for living and working in Canada. The widget to the left shows how IELTS General Training test scores equate to the CLB standards.
